The Best Places to Sit, Stay + Play with Your Pooch

WhynotMEpet of the Week: Shelby (Adopted!)

Shelby is a lovely seven-year-old Labrador Retriever/Border Collie Mix, available for adoption through Kitsap Humane Society.

About Me:

I love to go for walks and sniff every new scent I can find. You can typically see me zooming around the yard and chasing after plush toys and tennis balls.

I also know how to sit, shake and do a bunch of tricks. Even if I have a history of seizures and separation anxiety, you got nothing to worry about. I take medication and it seems to be working well.

I’m a well-rounded sweet dog who is great on the trail but also loves to be mellow and snuggly with my people, what more could you ask?

Animal Interactions:

I’ve lived with dogs before and I get along with calm ones.

The type of home I’m looking for:

  • I need a new home, but apartments, condos and townhomes don’t work for me.
  • Playing outdoors is one of my favorite hobbies, so I’d highly appreciate having fun at a fully fenced yard.
  • I do best in a home without children under the age of 10, chickens, and cats.
  • I want my family to become home more after often, and take me along car rides when they go out and about.

#WhynotMEpets is a statewide campaign that gives cats and dogs needing more care and attention a greater chance of finding a home as quickly as possible. Its mission focuses on animals that have been homeless for two months or longer; are elderly; have behavior or medical needs; aren’t thriving in the shelter environment; or make up a large percentage of the shelter population, such as bully breeds.
